| 内容記述 | This study explores how hibaku nisei (second-generation atomic bomb survivors) have been represented in Japanese public discourse. Using quantitative text analysis, it examines 4,380 newspaper articles published between 1990 and 2025 in three national dailies—Asahi Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, and Yomiuri Shimbun. Four major conceptual domains were identified: [Health], [Institutions and Policy], [Memory and Peace], and [Genetics and Effects]. The findings reveal that public discourse on hibaku nisei has not followed a single trajectory, but has evolved through overlapping concerns with medicine, policy, memory, and science. Since the 2010s, international and institutional discussions, such as those related to nuclear disarmament and treaties, have reemerged and intertwined with personal and familial narratives. By tracing how hibaku nisei have been linguistically and socially constructed through media representations, this study sheds light on the multifaceted nature of postwar discourse and offers insights into the contemporary challenges of memory, transmission, and social recognition. | |||||||||
