But the current Course of Study for Kindergarten defines the activity in a narrow sense that inhibits the possibility of musical growth in preschool children.\n　　This study note considers a proposal and the practice of experimental lessons at a kindergarten for the purpose of 1）highlighting functions of music other than the expression of emotion, 2）combining English with physical and music activities which are likely to delight the children, 3）featuring up-to-date popular sound and rhythm, 4）creating more comprehensive lessons effective for their total growth. The results are as follows.\n・Teaching English to infants is beneficial since their brains are suited to language acquisition when they are young. Teaching English accents and rhythm with music can facilitate their comprehensibility.\n・More detailed studies of the relationship between physical exercise and music are needed.\n・We must pay more attention to dancing and the actual musical environments of the children.\n・We need to control the volume or playback times of electronic music since their ears are sensitive.\n・We need to take the direction that the music will travel into account when deciding where to place speakers.\n・Teaching music with live performance is ideal.
