Group therapy, and other forms of psychological support suitable for early adolescent girls were investigated, and the practice of the group therapy is reported. Clinical psychologists and graduate students in clinical psychology held 15 group therapy sessions over a period of one and a half years. The program aimed to: (1) reduce anxiety about group participation, thereby promoting self-confidence; (2) give opportunities to experientially learn communication skills necessary for adolescent girls; and (3) give opportunities to experientiallly learn appropriate self-assertion. After every session, the staff members discussed and improved the program contents based on participants' behavior. As a result, the participants became able to voluntarily and proactively communicate with each other.
