The author uses original documents, explains the objectives and activities of the seminar, examines details of the core curricula plans, and compares and contrasts the 1963 curricula with those proposed later.\n　　The results highlight the significance of the seminar as the first organized postwar effort to produce a core curriculum based on then-existing programs for librarian education.
