The materials include records of several meetings, newsletters, and pamphlets issued by the confederation, and also contains personal letters, notes, and testimonies by many sufferers. The author of this paper has focused mainly on reading several newsletters issued by the confederation, and tracing changes in the organization of the NPO.\n　　Nihon Hidankyo was established in 1956, but in the middle of the 1960s it struggled and suspended activity for a while. Members’ opinions were divided over the movements against the A- and H-bombs. Few documents made before the suspension have survived but a rich collection of newsletters after the resumption of activity is preserved.
