The purpose of this paper, which is part of a larger ongoing study conducted through documentary research and field surveys, is to show some examples and provide input for further investigations and future tasks.   The author observes how the markets (pazar in Turkish) are connected to other urban spaces, the manner in which they have been used, and analyzes the markets’ spatial characteristics in each city. According to the survey in 2018, the city of Izmir currently has 115 pazars in the city center and 99 pazars on the suburban area of the city. In the city center, the number of pazars was increased along with the population in the last 8 years. This suggests that traditional pazars are preferred to supermarkets and they are continuously changing to fit the needs of locals. Additionally, a new type of pazar, selling items like women’s handmade crafts market, is increasing in Turkey.}, pages = {71--79}, title = {〔研究ノート〕トルコ西部エーゲ海地域における市場空間の現状}, year = {2019}, yomi = {ツルタ, ヨシコ} }
