In many educational contexts, although communicative activities have been strenuously implemented into language lessons, grammar instruction has not been appropriately integrated in the lessons. In this article, theoretical perspectives on grammar instruction will be explained and a systematic framework of grammar instruction, “form-focused instruction (FFI)”, will be demonstrated. Then an instructed model integrating FFI and communicative contexts proposed by Lyster (2007, 2017) will be illustrated.
